President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has arrived in Tanzania ahead of her white wedding with her fiancé, Isaya Yunge, scheduled for this weekend in Mwanza.

A video shared online shows Charlene dancing with traditional performers who welcomed her at the airport. She wore a sash bearing the word “Tanzania” as she joined the celebrations.

Charlene is set to walk down the aisle with Yunge in a ceremony expected to bring together family members, friends and invited guests from Kenya and Tanzania.

The wedding is expected to take place on November 6, 2026, following a series of celebrations leading up to the couple’s marriage.

The latest milestone comes days after Charlene held her bridal shower in Nairobi, where she celebrated with friends and family ahead of the wedding.

The bridal shower followed the couple’s traditional Kalenjin engagement ceremony, popularly known as Koito, held on August 8, 2026, in Kilgoris, Narok County.

The ceremony brought together members of the two families to formally recognise the couple’s relationship in accordance with Kalenjin traditions.

Yunge, who hails from Mwanza, is a technology entrepreneur and founder of SomaApps, an education technology platform that connects African students with scholarship opportunities.

The choice of Mwanza as the wedding destination brings together two families from neighbouring East African countries, with attention now turning to the couple’s wedding celebrations.
