Reverend Kathy Kiuna has opened up about the emotional pain of losing her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, describing grief as one of the most difficult experiences a person can endure.

In an emotional Instagram post shared on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder reflected on the loneliness of losing a life partner, saying facing life's challenges without a loved one can be overwhelming.

Kathy explained that couples can navigate difficult seasons together and emerge stronger, but death leaves the surviving partner with the painful reality of carrying on alone.

“Sometimes it hurts so bad. I think losing a loved one is one of the most painful situations one can ever encounter,” she wrote.

She noted that going through life's struggles becomes easier when two people face them together, as every challenge presents an opportunity to grow stronger as a couple.

However, she observed that death changes that reality, leaving the surviving partner without the person with whom they shared their struggles, victories and everyday experiences.

“You see, fighting for things is easier coz you are in it together and things come and go. After every fight you get stronger anyway. When they are gone, they are gone,” she added.

The preacher also used the reflection to urge couples and families to appreciate their loved ones and create lasting memories while they still have the opportunity.

“Please treasure your loved ones and make great memories. Don’t take each other for granted,” she appealed.

Kathy's message comes more than two years after the death of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, who died on July 9, 2024, following a battle with cancer.

The couple had been married for nearly three decades and co-founded Jubilee Christian Church, building a ministry that became a prominent presence in Kenya's Christian community.

Through her latest reflection, Kathy has offered a personal account of life after bereavement, highlighting the loneliness that comes with losing a partner with whom one shared life's joys and challenges.
