Congolese-born gospel singer Barakito Rodrigue is set to release a new song, Unayotenda ni Mengi, featuring Pastor Tumaini, as he continues to expand his gospel music catalogue.
The singer, born Baraka Birindwa, grew up in Nairobi before relocating to the United States, where he is currently based. His musical journey draws on his Congolese roots and Kenyan upbringing, with a sound that blends contemporary Christian worship, praise and Afrogospel influences.
Singing in English, Swahili and French, he explores different musical styles, including Kompa and Seben, while keeping faith at the centre of his music.
His latest collaboration with Pastor Tumaini adds to a catalogue built around songs of worship, gratitude, hope and encouragement.
Operating under his label, B Kito Music, he has released several singles and collaborations that have helped establish his presence in the gospel music scene.
Among them is Amenitendea Mema, featuring Guardian Angel, a contemporary praise song with Kompa influences celebrating God's goodness.
He has also worked with Victor Maestro on Mtu Aliye Barikiwa, an upbeat gospel Seben track centred on hope and gratitude, while Tu M'as Fait Du Bien, featuring Jemima Mbiye, showcases his French-language repertoire.
Another release, Yatapita, featuring Godfrey Mteule, carries a message of perseverance through difficult times.
Beyond music, Rodrigue is a digital content creator and photographer, interests that complement his work as an independent recording artist.
With Unayotenda ni Mengi, he continues to explore gospel music through collaborations and different African sounds while reaching audiences across language and geographical boundaries.
