Cecily Mbarire reshuffles senior officials

Two days after the formation of a task force to help in a 100 days' delivery promise by Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, the governor has sent senior officials at the Embu Count Revenue Authority on compulsory leave in what she referred to as a "total refurbishment of finance docket to ensure optimal levels of revenue collection and enhanced service delivery."

The following top leadership of ECRA and Embu Level 5 hospital were sent on compulsory leave: Henry Muriuki-CEO ECRA, Evelyne Kimuli-Deputy CEO ECRA, Jesse's Mwangi- Revenue Officer at County headquarters, Subcounty revenue heads Jonathan Kiringa (Runyenjes) Dorothy Karimi (Mbeere South) John Murithi Mwarire (Manyatta) and Simon Kariuki Nyaga (the CEO Embu Level five)

The officers were ordered not to step into any county office unless with authority from the governor herself.

"This is to allow a forensic audit of Embu County Revenue Authority and enable the task force to carry out its mandate and report the findings and recommendations within the stipulated timelines." the statement read in part.

Before his appointment to the position, Nyaga served as the chief of staff in the county government. He is said to be a close ally of former governor Martin Wambora.

Dr Daniel Mugendi is now the CEO and superintendent of Embu Level Five Teaching and Referral Hospital, the same position he held in the last regime before he was demoted.

Nicholus Kunga Ngece takes over as the new county minister for Health but in n acting capacity. Ngece served in the Environment docket in the same capacity before the changes.

Mercy Munene has been appointed as the new Finance and Economic Planning minister, switching positions with Suleiman Nthiga who takes over the Agriculture Livestock and Co-operative Development.

Damiano Muthee has been moved to the Finance Department as the chief officer. Muthee takes over from Ruth Ndirangu who has been deployed to the Roads, Transport, and Public Works department in the same capacity.

The Director of Medical Services, Dr Stephen Kaniaru, is the new acting chief officer in Health Department.

Mr Eric Njeru is the new Embu County Revenue Authority CEO but in an acting capacity. Njeru initially served in the department of Administration and Devolution.

John Mukundi is the chief officer for Public Service. He served as acting Health minister before the changes.
