Defending champs Acrovent Rhinos on false start as Mars NPL T20 tournament bowls off

Kifaru Chargers beat defending champions SS Acrovent Rhinos by seven runs at the Nairobi Gymkhana as the fourth edition of Mars New Age Premier League T20 cricket tournament bowled off in Nairobi at the weekend.
At the same time, V-Create Warriors overcame CEL Dragons by a run in a cutthroat battle staged at the same location.
Kifaru Chargers had 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the 20 overs against SS Acrovent Rhinos.
Shaishav Patel of Kifaru Chargers won the man of the match award with 25 runs off 19 balls including two wickets as his team mate, Krishna Babu added three wickets to ice up the victory.

In reply, SS Acrovent Rhinos managed 126/8 in 20 overs.
Anand Ranganathan top scored with 36(22) as Part Patel added 30 (38) balls for the losers.
V-Create Warriors scored 137/6 in 19.3 overs as Rajiv Sutaria won the man of the match with 37 runs off 28 balls in their slim win against CEL Dragons.
CEL Dragons managed to score 136/4 in 20 overs.
"We have added 25 players from outside South Indian communities in order to take the level of the game up, we believe this will attract more crowd on the ground," New Age Sports Management chairman Ramesh Pisharam told Standard Sports.
In the Above 40 years old category, V-Create Warriors beat CEL Dragons by 41 runs at the Jamhuri High School ground.
Elected to bat first, V-Create Warriors posted 146 runs for the loss of six wickets in the 20 overs.
Rajesh Raghvani had
59 runs off 52 balls that propelled his side to the victory.
However, it was captain Thota Sreenivas who stole the limelight with his four wickets that earned him the man of the match award as Sujit Pillai and Rashesh took three and two wickets in that order.
In reply, CEL Dragons were bundled out for 105 runs in their 17.3 overs taken.
The main scorers for CEL Dragons were Vivek(31) and Karim(28).
The second match of the above 40 years old category pitted Kifaru Chargers who won against SS Acrovent Rhinos by five runs at the Nairobi Gymkhana.
Kifaru Chargers scored 120/6 in 20 overs thanks to 72 in 59 balls from man of the match Ramesh Bora who was greatly assisted by skipper Kranthi Kumar who notched 27 off 43 balls.
In reply, in reply SS Acrovent managed 115/9 in 20 overs.
