Two new secondary schools in Soin/Sigowet constituency will receive Sh9.4 million from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.

Speaking during the official opening of Iraa Girls Secondary School, MP Justice Kemei said the institution would receive Sh4.8 million while Cheramor Mixed School will get Sh4.6 million.

The carving out of Soin/Sigowet constituency from Ainamoi and Belgut constituencies in the run-up to the 2013 General Election left it with fewer secondary schools.

This was after institutions such as Sosoit Girls and Cheptenye Boys fell under Belgut while Kipsigis Girls High School fell under Ainamoi constituency.
