Over 6,000 new identity cards delivered to Tana River county

TANA RIVER COUNTY has received 6,157 new identity cards while more than 1,627 new cards are yet to be collected by the owners.

Assistant registrar of persons Fatuma Suleiman said Thursday in Hola that more than 569 other lost and found identity cards are still lying at the Tana River registry.

Speaking at a meeting with chiefs, ward administrators and IEBC officials, Suleiman said already, over 4,751 new cards had been handed over to chiefs in respective locations, adding that it was possible that all IDs would be collected with the help of the administrators.
