The family of a woman allegedly killed by her boyfriend, the grandson of former minister Njenga Karume, is crying for justice.
Wairimu Kamanja, 38, who had a relationship with Kenneth Wathugi was buried yesterday at Nairobi's Lang'ata cemetery where speakers called on the Government to bring the culprits to book. Ms Kamanja's mother, Ruth Nyakio, said her daughter was not suicidal as claimed.
"My daughter loved life and was full of it. She could not have contemplated suicide, and at her experienced age, she must have coped with different incidents in life like we all do. She was a strong lady," she said.
Ms Nyakio said her daughter was humble, intelligent and loving who had grown in the ways of God. "Her father was a pastor and we are a prayerful family," she added. Nyakio said she had not met Mr Wathugi or the Karume family at any given time.
