Two herders shot dead by suspected cattle rustlers

Tension is high in Kipchoge, Narok South sub-county after two herders were shot dead by a people believed to be cattle rustlers.

The two were shot on Wednesday night in a makeshift shelter, and nine cows driven away.

According to Narok South Administration Police Commander Fredrick Suter, the two died on the spot while the thieves were believed to have passed through the forest and entered Nakuru County.

“We have held meetings with leaders from the two communities and prevailed upon them to preach peace so that this does not degenerate into an ethnic issue,” said Mr Suter adding that the attack was a normal one.
