Njuri Ncheke summon Muthaura in elders row

A Njuri Ncheke faction has disowned last week’s initiation of 19 professionals as elders. Speaking at the Nchiru Shrine, the faction’s secretary general Josphat Murangiri and chairman Linus Kathera, summoned patron, Amb Francis Muthaura claiming he was biased towards the faction led by Phares Ruteere and Paul Ithinkia.

They accused the former Head of Civil Service of ‘sponsoring’ their rivals. Last week, during a traditional ceremony at Gitoro forest, Njuri Ncheke Tharaka Nithi’s patron, Erastus Njoka, who is also the chairman of the Meru Professionals Association, said they were engaging professionals to give them an opportunity to serve the community. But Friday, the Kathera-led faction said the 19 initiates were still ‘ncheege’ or uninitiated.
