Chinese minister to tour key projects

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, will today jet into the country in what marks his first foreign trip of 2015.

During the two-day visit, he is expected to assess the progress made in the implementation of various cooperation agreements recently signed between Kenya and China, the world’s second largest economy.

He will also seek to further improve ties between the two countries by signing more agreements.

Among the key development initiatives in line for evaluation are the Nairobi-Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway project, the Olkaria Power Generation project and support for social grassroots projects.

Wang Yi will meet President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi today afternoon.
