Lamu: Two people killed in suspected Al-Shabaab attack, houses torched

Suspected Al Shabaab militants have killed two people at Taa village in Lamu County.

The Standard has established that several houses were torched during the Monday morning attack, that struck Taa village between Katsakairu and Lango la Simba village.

Fierce gunfire exchange ensued between officers of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the militants.

The torched house belongs to a National Police Reservist who was not at home during the attack that took place around 1 am.

One of the men killed had gone to look after the animals after the owner went home for a relative's burial.

The KDF is repulsing the attackers.
