The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has ordered investigations into a video circulating on social media showing two students of Technical University of Mombasa beating a colleague.
The students in the video which has gone viral are seen giving their colleague a thorough beating for allegedly snatching a girlfriend from one of them.
"Do you know whose girlfriend Angel is?" asks one of the students as he hits the victim with a stick.
The student is then ordered to lie down on his stomach before he receives several strokes of the cane.
The DCI has now ordered the student to make a formal report at a police station near him then share the OB number with the DCI.
"Good evening... Kindly advise the victim to make a formal report at his nearest Police Station and then share the OB number with us. We will ensure that Justice is served," said a tweet by the DCI.
The student has since recorded a statement at Makupa police station and has already shared his OB number on twitter.
Early this year a student at St Joseph's Nyabigena Secondary in Gucha South Kisii died under unclear circumstances after being beaten by a prefect.
