Mwai Kibaki mourns his former aide's father

Nakuru, Kenya: Retired president Mwai Kibaki has condoled with the family of his former aide Stanley Murage following the death of Murage's father Joseph Karuthai.

The late Karuthai, a former freedom fighter and prominent Nakuru investor, died a week ago at a Nakuru hospital aged 95 years after a long illness.

In his message of condolence read by his Director of Communications Ngari Gituku, Mr Kibaki said, "Mzee Karuthai endured all odds in life and never lost his will to conquer any adversity. He emerged as one of the most prominent investors in Nakuru town."

Eulogising the departed Mau Mau hero, Governor Joseph Ndathi praised him for having been among the few to invest in the diaspora.

Othaya MP Marry Wambui and Senator Daniel Karaba were also present.
