The International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) has stepped up the programme to tackle youth unemployment through the rollout of a business skills training.

ILO’s Youth Entrepreneurship Facility (YEF) will invest Sh48 million to boost business management skills to potential and existing entrepreneurs at the Small and Medium Enterprise level through its flagship Start & Improve Your Business (SIYB) programme.

The programme supports emerging and existing micro- and small-scale entrepreneurs to develop basic business management skills. Through the programme, YEF supports young entrepreneurs to manage sustainable enterprises as ways of poverty eradication.

"We’re aiming to reach at least 15,000 young women and men across Kenya with this training programme in the next three years," Waigi George, an ILO SIYB Master Trainer explained.
