Kenya Shell has launched its new Shell Unleaded Extra that contains a new Fuel Economy formula that is designed to give Kenyan motorists extra kilometres at no extra cost, specifically developed for all petrol vehicles.

"We are committed to delivering better fuels around the world and have been working to develop fuels to address motorists’ need for improved fuel economy and to get value for money," Kenya Shell’s Business-2-Business Manager, Gerald Masese, said at the launch event.

The new Shell Unleaded Extra contains a triple-action cleaning component, which helps to prevent the buildup of mileage robbing deposits, and supports vehicles to perform more efficiently. It also helps to protect valuable engine parts and gives motorists more benefits than standard unleaded fuels.

Kenya Shell has been a frontrunner in introducing innovative products in the market. It was the first to introduce unleaded gasoline in Kenya and East Africa in 2001. In 2006, it introduced Diesel Extra with an additive package to clean and protect the engines. This was followed with the introduction of their differentiated gasoline brand, Unleaded Extra and also launched a highly improved range of Helix motor oils.

In 2008, Kenya Shell launched their premium performance product of choice, Shell V-Power. In 2009, Kenya Shell launched Shell Diesel Extra with Fuel Economy formula, a first in the Kenyan market.
