Ten CID commanders have been moved in a mini reshuffle announced by the commissioner of police Mathew Iteere.

The changes were effected to check crime levels in some of the affected areas and enhance operations.

Among the moved is Embakasi’s Mohamed Issa who moves to Subukia. Siaya’s Kariuki Ngugi has been moved to Kilifi to replace Collins Wekesa.

Wekesa has been moved to Nakuru in the same capacity to replace Kassim Mshenga who moves to Siaya to be in charge of the CID division.

Subukia DCIO Linus Owang has been moved to Mombasa Airport to be in charge of Anti-Narcotics Unit while Dagorret’s Henry Kibet has been moved to Turkana to swap positions with Mr Joseph Ondoro.

Mombasa Airport head of Anti-Narcotics Unit Peter Kimulo has been moved to Embakasi CID division in Nairobi while Jomo Kenyatta International Airport deputy CID boss Peter Kioko has been transferred to Keiyo in the same capacity.

CID director Ndegwa Muhoro termed the changes normal aimed at boosting the operations of officers on the ground.

"The changes are normal in the police and none should claim it is because of crime levels. Crime levels are within normal rate and we are managing the situation," said Muhoro.

He added detectives are still hunting down a gang that struck at an apartment in Nairobi’s Langata area that led to the death of photographer Charlie Greeve Cook over the weekend.

Police have been interrogating Cook’s girlfriend and beauty model Diana Nekoye as part of their investigations into the incident.

Muhoro added police are yet to establish the motive of the attack that occurred on Saturday night.

Cook was trying to flee from the gang that was looking for him and had hang on a rail at a balcony for long before he let lose and dropped from third floor to the ground.

He was pronounced dead as he was being attended to at the Nairobi West Hospital.
