Foundation says will spend Sh1.06b on youth enterprises

NAIROBI, KENYA: The MasterCard Foundation will be funding enterprises ran by youths to a tune of Sh1.06 billion around the country. The funding will be carried out in partnership with CAP Youth Empowerment Institute (CAP YEI), which is an organization that trains and seeks funding for youths around the country. While overseeing the unveiling of the plan, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki said, “it is time the private sector supported we in public service to help our youth get jobs by offering them skills that make them employable through training such as the ones carried out by CAPYEI. We in the ministry have the Uwezo fund and the youth fund, but this is not enough.
