Pokot professionals have urged Police Commissioner Matthew Iteere to produce the alleged cattle rustler filmed being tortured by GSU officers in 2009.
Led by Sigor MP Wilson Litole, the professionals threatened to institute court proceedings if Iteere does not produce the boy, whom they alleged is missing, within seven days.
The MP and the professionals made the demand during a press conference at a Nairobi hotel on Saturday. The boy, Kakuko Rioketa, was among six others who are allegedly missing.
The incident happened at Kirita in Trans Nzoia County and not Kwanza as claimed in the media, they said. The boys were treated at the Kitale District Hospital and the matter was later reported at the Kapenguria Police Station, but no action has been taken.
"The police Commissioner should be concerned more about the whereabouts of the boys than the GSU officers who tortured them. We want them produced and medical examination done or we will sue," said the MP.
Among those present at the press conference were former MP Samuel Moroto and NGO Council member Kevinnah Loyatum.
They also raised an alarm over an alleged hole dug at Kirita where Pokot are dumped when arrested.
" We have complained about this for so long and nobody has taken any action. But from now we are not going to look backwards but fight for our rights," they said.
However, Rioketa appeared on a local TV station on Saturday narrating his ordeal.
