Riders are busy making final touches ahead of the seventh round of the Car and General National Motocross set for Jamhuri Park on Sunday.

During the event, the MX2 crowd puller Cruze Muigai will be back with his Yamaha 250 four stroke bike up against Shivam Vinayak (Yamaha 450 four stroke) of MX1.

Muigai will be going out to collect valuable championship points against the likes of his cousin Tutu Maina and JJ Kahumbura.

MX1 class has the likes of round six winner Charles Mugo and his father Moses Mugo. Charles will be going for the second win of the season after beating Vinayak at the sixth meeting. Mugo hopes for a repeat performance.

"First, I it felt great to win for the second time and its thanks to God for the life and kudos to my mum for supporting me to ride vigorously well. My biggest challenge has always been beating Vinayak, but this event had a big entry on the gates, so I guess getting the whole shot at the first corner and with good riders like Anthony (Nielsen) and the rest, it was such challenging event," said Charles.

Last time round, Muigai rode a race of his life when he took the fight to Vinayak.

Brilliant displays

Motocross lovers and riders are already pondering what is up the sleeves of MX2 riders with MX1 prospect Ken Anunda also promising some brilliant displays on his carroty KTM bike.

Ivan Guya is expected to dominate the proceedings of MX125. The fast rider has won all MX 125 races this season but anticipates stiff opposition from Mwai Kibaki and Adil Khan.

MX 85 will be worth watching with Apollo Mbuki taking on Masalule Kituyi and fast rising Karan Sehmi.

The MX50 has attracted the likes of Maina Wanjigi (KTM), Jesse Waithaka (KTM) and Dekker Kihara. Wanjigi won MX50 race on a perfect 60 points score last month and will be looking to dominate the three heats at stake.

Jesse cruised home second on 51, while Dekker and Tai Maina took third and fourth respectively. MX 65 has fast paced Rolf Kihara (KTM), Owain Ashley, Ryan Bailey and Mohamed Anwar.

During the event, spectators will enjoy continuous entertainment with organisers East African Motor Sports Club running combined heats of MX1, MX2 and MX125 classes.
