Moyale, Kenya: Police in Moyale town have seized seven kilogrammes of bhang from a car heading to Nairobi.
The officers erected a road block yesterday at Odda after receiving a tip off from the public that the vehicle was loaded with unknown items at Sessi.
The vehicle was driven to Moyale Police Station and upon search, bhang was found. Moyale Deputy OCPD Peter Njoroge said the bhang was seized in a car escorting a trailer transporting cigarettes to Ethiopia.
"The car was parked for eight days in Moyale awaiting clearance of the trailer that it was escorting. The trailer was cleared on Friday and they were going to Nairobi on Saturday," he said.
"We found seven kilogrammes of bhang wrapped with paper bags," he said adding that the driver of the car was arrested.
