Oil pump prices fall again in November

NAIROBI, KENYA: The retail prices of petroleum, kerosene and diesel have fallen for the second consecutive month, providing some much-needed relief to hard-pressed consumers.
The price of super petrol in Nairobi has fallen from Sh112.27 in October to Sh108.87 per litre while kerosene has declined by Sh3.40 per litre to retail at Sh82.79.
The retail price of diesel has decreased by Sh1.22 per litre to Sh103.25 in Nairobi.
This is compared to Sh105.51 for super, Sh100.91 for diesel and Sh79.99 for kerosene sold in Mombasa.

In a statement to newsrooms yesterday, the Energy Regulatory Commission announced a reduction in the price of super petrol by Sh3.40 per litre, kerosene by Sh2.22 and diesel by Sh1.22 per litre.
The price of super in Lokichogio will be Sh118.52 for a litre, Sh113.12 for diesel and Sh92.45 per litre of kerosene.
The average landed cost of imported super petrol decreased by 2.81 per cent from $1,039.59 per tonne to $1,010.42 in October 2013.This is compared to an increase in the price of diesel per tonne rising from $969.48 in September 2013 to $972.51 in October 2013.
The dip in prices is a big boost to the economy, especially as the cost of fuel affects every sector.
