President William Ruto has addressed perceptions that he is a micromanager, saying his attention to detail is driven by a clear vision of how government resources should be deployed to make a difference.
Speaking during a media engagement on Thursday, November 13, the Head of State said he is often accused of micromanaging government projects but insisted that his style ensures promises are fulfilled.
“I take time, but I am clear in my mind. That is the difference,” he said. “Sometimes people accuse me of micromanaging things, but the devil is in the details. You have to think about where this money is coming from, how it is going to be deployed, and how we are going to make a difference.”
The President noted that both he and his Cabinet have clarity on their development agenda, adding that his decisions are always backed by well-thought-out plans.
“I have clarity, my ministers have clarity. Whenever I am talking, my ministers know what I’m talking about and what they need to do,” he said.

Ruto cited ongoing infrastructure projects as examples of his commitment to delivering on promises made to Kenyans.
“When I said we are building a stadium in Kitui, people did not believe it. But we have built it,” he said, adding that his administration remains focused on completing projects such as the Talanta Stadium, which he said will be finished by December this year.
