Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i yesterday toured Zambia to deliver a message by President Uhuru Kenyatta to Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema.
This comes a day after the Interior CS lifted the veil off Deputy President William Ruto’s vast wealth and security detail.
A statement by the interior ministry indicated that Matiang’i was in Lusaka, Zambia to “deliver President Kenyatta’s special message” to the newly sworn-in Zambia president, a few days after Uhuru attended Hichilema’s inauguration.
According to the statement, one of Matiang’i’s chief responsibilities was to lobby for Defence Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma’s bid to become the seventh secretary-general of the Commonwealth, a body that comprises 53 former British colony nations.
