Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has called on Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and his PS Karanja Kibicho to thwart an alleged plot to disrupt Deputy President William Ruto's church event in Central region.
On his Facebook page, Kuria claimed goons had been hired to disrupt Ruto’s function at AIPCA Mukaro Church in Nyeri County, a cheme that was being executed by his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu.
"Dear PS Kibicho and CS Matiangi. There are rumours that Nyeri Town MP is organising goons to disrupt the event at the AIPCA Mukaro Church that will be graced by the Deputy President this afternoon. Kindly ask the police to maintain law and order," he posted.
The legislator warned that if the planned disruption is not thwarted, the situation will lead to bloodshed and deaths.
"I really fear for the lives of those goons given that the AIPCA faithful are the real freedom fighters who liberated this country. The body count might be shocking. I am sure you are up to the task. Uphold the rule of law," he added.

Wambugu, however, laughed off Kuria’s claims saying he (Kuria) was scaremongering.
"We don't buy into fear," he wrote on his Facebook page in response to Kuria’s claims.
The two Jubilee legislators have split following the 2022 succession politics that has given birth to warring faction in the Jubilee party.
Kuria belongs to the Tangatanga faction allied to DP Ruto while Wmbugu is the face of Kieleweke faction.
