As the Homa Bay County Secondary School Games draw near, the spotlight falls on Agoro Sare High School, who are gearing up with determination to retain the boys' basketball title.
The champions defeated Ototo Mixed last year and head coach Benson Ochieng is fine-tuning their strategies and skills to make a formidable challenge in the tournament and secure their spot in the Nyanza Regional Games.
With Agoro Sare leading Group A, which also includes Homa Bay and Oriwo, the competition in the boys' basketball category promises intense matchups and a showcase of emerging talent.
Agoro Sare, known for their agility and teamwork, are focusing on their strengths to navigate through the group, eyeing the finals with a clear mission to emerge victorious.
"Our aim is not just to compete but to excel and secure our spot in the Nyanza regionals. We've focused on enhancing our tactical approach, stamina, and teamwork to face any challenge head-on," said Ocheing.

Nyandiwa, Gethsemane, and Orero will face off in Group B while Group C consists of Mbita, Ototo, Ober
In hockey, Tolbert Osiare is also confident to lead Ringa Boys to the title once again ahead of their match up against Agoro Sare, Homa Bay, and Oriwo.
Mbita High School will headlines Group B which also has Kuoyo, and Mirogi.
Homa Bay County Secondary Schools Sports Association chairman Bernard Ochieng in his statement said they are ready.
"Homa-Bay County has had it's various teams preparing adequately at school level by undergoing rigorous training, playing some friendly matches and attending several open tournaments.
"As a county of Endless Potential, it's our dream to also engage aggressively in talent identification and development because that's another frontier for economic growth and development. We'd wish to grow and import such great talents as Michael Olunga, many more," said Ochieng.
