Kenya has been awarded the rights to host three international basketball championships this year following a meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting, which involved Fiba Africa Zone V officials and Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) First Vice President Ali Hilmi, gave Kenya the nod to host the preliminary rounds of the Zone V boys' and girls' U-16 Afrobasket Championships.

Kenya will also host the Zone V U-18 boys' and girls' 3x3 qualifiers before hosting the senior men and women’s Afrobasket 3x3 qualifiers.

All three events will be held in Mombasa between May and June.

Separately, Zetech University teams posted mixed results in the KBF leagues held at Nyayo National Stadium at the weekend.
