President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister, Kristina Wambui Pratt, has been picked as one of the women nominees to the Senate.

In a list submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar and Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu were all top priorities for the Jubilee Party as senatorial nominees.

The current Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has been prioritised as a nominee to the National Assembly.

On the other hand, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has prioritised Bishop Jackson Kosgei, Teresiah Wanjiru Mwangi and Abdisirat Khalif Ali as nominees to the National Assembly.

Others who are hopeful of joining the National Assembly as nominated legislators include Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru and Starehe MP Charles Njagua Kanyi, alias Jaguar.

For the senatorial nominees, UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina, Roselinda Soipan Tuya and Miraj Abdillahi have been prioritised by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

Former Nairobi senatorial aspirant Karen Nyamu and Kajiado East Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko are also among those slotted in for Senate.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has prioritised Irene Nyakerario Mayaka and Suba South MP John Mbadi as top choices in National Assembly.

For the women nominees to the Senate, ODM’s National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Catherine Mumma, Beatrice Akinyi Oyomo and Hamida Ali Kibwana feature prominently.

Notably, former Sauti Sol Protégé, Crystal Asige, has been nominated to the Senate, representing persons living with disability. She is however second choice to Nickson Ochieng.

In the list, priority is given based on the ranking order. A candidate placed at Position One on the nomination list stands a higher chance of clinching the slot than others.
