The body of Corporal Caroline Kangogo has left Iten County Referral Hospital mortuary for burial at her parents' home in Anin, Elgeyo Marakwet.

Kangogo was found dead two weeks ago in a bathroom at her parents' homestead.

A postmortem conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor indicated that Kangogo died of a gunshot wound that entered through her right chin, exiting through the left side of her head.

The convoy escorting the body snaked its way through Kerio escarpments to Anin. Kangogo is suspected to have killed police officer John Ogweno in Nakuru and businessesman Peter Ngegwa in Juja, Kiambu County.

Hundreds of boda boda riders and tens of motorists from Iten Town are escorting the hearse ferrying the body.
