COVID-19: Unbearable pain for a family who lost dad and son within a span of three months

Bishop Elisha Juma of the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) recently succumbed to the global pandemic popularly known as the Coronavirus.

Juma's demise on June 29 comes three months since his eldest son Peter Juma died on March 28. Until his death, the late Juma had been admitted with issues related to blood pressure and diabetes.

Not even had the family accepted their son's death when they were thrown into mourning following their father's demise. The late Peter Juma was working as a medic in a United States hospital.

Mr. Peter had visited his homeland in December 2019. According to sources, the late Elisha had wished that his son be buried in a place where his family could visit and pay him their last tributes once COVID-19 ends.

According to a committee member planning the send-off for the man of God, arrangements were ongoing to raise funds to offset medical bills and funeral expenses, amounting to about Sh2 million.

Many have continued to eulogize the late Juma as a steadfast man of God. Bishop Juma left behind his wife, Mary Juma serving as a Reverend, and their five children.

He will be laid to rest in Rachuonyo, Homabay County, on July 4.
