More than 200 boys who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations this year were circumcised at Rangau village in the county on Sunday.

The boys mainly from Turkana community, faced the knife as the world marked international World HIV and Aids Day.

The boys who benefited from the program expressed their happiness saying that the exercise has saved their poor parents the cost of circumcision.

“This program has helped our parents who could not afford to get us here and pay for our circumcision fees,” Bran Lempoko, a beneficiary said.

The program sponsored by Shades of Hope, a local Non-governmental organization operating in the county, is aimed at preventing the spread of HIV in the region.
