Herder kills colleague for hating how he chewed miraa

A herder has been found guilty of killing colleague who was allegedly irritated by the way he was chewing miraa in Marsabit County.

High court Judge Said Chitembwe convicted Abu Ali of manslaughter on June 25 after he killed Wario Halake by slashing his head.

Chetambwe ruled that he found that the prosecution had not proved the charge of murder against the accused beyond reasonable doubt.

“I am satisfied that the deceased’s cause of death was as a result of the injuries he sustained after he was assaulted and not the injuries sustained during the accident at Makuyu. I'm further satisfied that it is the accused who inflicted the fatal injuries on the deceased. The accused defence does not raise any doubt on the prosecution evidence,” the judge ruled.
