Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has launched fresh attacks on Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a thinly veiled attack, Mr Mudavadi alleged that the DP was trying to "wear his bosses shoes" when he is still in office.

Mudavadi was hitting out at Ruto and MPs allied to him under the Tangatanga banner who are traversing the country to drum up support for DP's presidential bid in 2022.

"From where I come, from it is a curse to inherit your father when he is still alive," said Mudavadi.

A week ago President Kenyatta dubbed politicians in campaign mode, especially from his central backyard, as "mikora" and warned that he would deal with them at the right time.

Mudavadi further cautioned against a referendum that only focuses on the sharing of political slots.

Mudavadi was speaking at Jesus Is Alive Ministries (JIAM) where he attended a church service and was hosted by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

Mudavadi said that the much touted referendum should be people-centered in order to ensure an equitable country.
