Deputy President William Ruto has made a major political stride in Gusii by netting two more MPs who have vowed to walk with him in his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi (Wiper Party) and Vincent Kemosi of West Mugirango yesterday announced they had joined the Tanga Tanga team.

The legislators said at a rally attended by Ruto that they have formed a union with the DP in a bid to realise more development for their constituencies.

Ruto conducted three fund raising activities for various organisations in Gusii and said he was unstoppable in doing what he believed is the right thing for Kenyans.

The DP was also accompanied by South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro, Mugambi Muiruthania of Buri Constituency and Runyenjes MP Eric Muchangi.

The DP said the government has made strides in rural electrification, providing piped water to residents, construction of roads and promoting technical training for the youth.

Next president

“The government has heavily invested in education to ensure all young people participate positively in promoting the Big Four Agenda,” Ruto said.

Momanyi said it was clear Ruto would be the next president and that the Gusii Community cannot afford to be out of government.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko said the DP had a majority of elected leaders in Kisii and Nyamira counties on his side. “As the Gusii community, we have to strategise ourselves by supporting the winning candidate in 2022,” said Nyamoko.
