Meanwhile, police have intensified a search for two guns robbed from the owner of Osteria Del Chianti Restaurant along Lenana Road Mr Maurizio Corti.

The search spread outside Nairobi after the thieves who grabbed two Ceska pistols with 30 bullets went into hiding.

Corti told police that the thieves tampered with power supply to the restaurant before they grabbed the guns which were in a bag next to where he was seated.

The incident happened on Saturday night.

“One of them placed something on my cheek which I think was a weapon and threatened to kill or harm me if I made any move. They then grabbed the bag which also had my personal belongings,” he said.

The hotelier is a licensed gun holder. It is believed the robbers are people who knew his movements.

He told the Standard that he uses the weapons for his protection.
