Tanzania court sentences Chinese 'Ivory Queen' to 15 years

China has backed the jailing of a Chinese businesswoman labelled the "Ivory Queen" who was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a Tanzanian judge for smuggling the tusks of more than 350 elephants.

Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang according to AP said, China is ready to work with the international community to protect wildlife and curb the international trade, a move to help Tanzanian authorities in conducting a "just" investigation.
