One dead, three injured in road accident along Nakuru-Baringo Road

One person died and three others sustained injuries in a self-involving accident which occurred on Friday along Marigat-Nakuru road.

Confirming the incident Mogotio OCPD Stephen Weda said the accident happened at Radat area along the route.

Weda said the injured were rushed to Marigat and later transferred to Baringo Referral Hospital where they are receiving treatment adding they are yet to know the exact number of occupants that were in the vehicle.

“One person died and three sustained minor injuries, we however yet to establish the exact number of occupants who were in the vehicle,” said Weda.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly lost control of the vehicle as he was trying to overtake a lorry. The vehicle then veered off the road and rolled several times.

“The last thing I remember is that our driver was trying to overtake a lorry. Sadly our vehicle veered off the road before it rolled. When I recovered from shock, I was lying in a pool of blood,” said a victim who is recuperating at a Kabarnet Hospital.

It is alleged that the vehicle occupants were members of Diadems International, a Community Based Organization, who were traveling from Nakuru to Baringo for a mentorship program in Baringo.

The residents indicate that the place is prone to accident, and they have called upon on the concern authority to mark the location as black spot.
