Three die while digging a water line in Kisii

Three people have been confirmed dead in Kisii while at work on the Sh6.2 billion Kegati Water Project.

The three were digging a water line along the Kisii-Kegati road.

Eye witnesses say the soil caved in, trapping three people in the tunnel which had already gone more than three meters deep.

Rescue mission to save other workers led by Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet is ongoing.

The deceased have been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
