Residents of Kapseret constituency whose land has been taken for road construction have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the State to release Sh6.1 billion compensation. Hundreds of affected families staged a demonstration on Friday.

They said they had not been paid one year after compulsory acquisition of their land for the 35km Eldoret Southern by-pass, from Cheploskei-Maili Tisa.
