Clerics have welcomed the decision by the National Super Alliance (NASA) to call off today’s planned swearing-in of Raila Odinga.

Under the umbrella of the Dialogue Reference Group, the religious groups hailed the decision as a positive step that promotes peace.

“We commend NASA for the decision to call off the earlier announced swearing-in of Raila Odinga as president. This is a positive step that promotes peace,” said the DRG in a statement yesterday.

They said the commitment shown by President Uhuru Kenyatta to reach out to Mr Odinga and Kenyans provided a good foundation towards the resolution of the political crisis.
