DP Ruto claims a ‘Supreme Coup’ was executed on the will of Kenyans after full ruling

Deputy President William Ruto is not a happy man after the Supreme Court, on 20^th September 2017 released the full judgement on the presidential election petition.

According to the Deputy President, the Supreme Court executed a ‘Supreme Coup’, giving a ruling on improprieties committed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), disregarding evidence inside ballot boxes.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was off the hook after the court said that he was not tied to any rigging claims.

He took to his Twitter page, angrily claiming that the Supreme Court managed to execute a Supreme Coup on the will of the Kenyan people.

The Jubilee Party was not pleased with the nullification of presidential election results but President Uhuru Kenyatta said that he respected the decision.

Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu filed a petition to the Judicial Service Commission seeking to oust Chief Justice David Maraga. Jubilee Party, however, distanced themselves from his actions, saying that he acted alone.

The Supreme Court has come under scrutiny mainly from Jubilee who still insist that Uhuru Kenyatta beat Raila Odinga in the election.
