The family of the late Christabel Ouko, who died in a road crash last week, has changed the burial plans to avoid possible interference with the Supreme Court’s verdict on the ongoing presidential election results petition.

Ms Ouko was former Foreign Affairs Minister Robert Ouko’s wife. There are concerns that Friday’s verdict will spark either celebrations or protests that could affect the burial earlier scheduled for Saturday, September 2.

She will now be buried at her home in Koru, Muhoroni constituency, according to the funeral committee headed by Martha Joseph.

Ms Ouko had just attended the inauguration of Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o when the accident occurred. Prof Nyong’o and his deputy Mathews Owili condoled with the family.
