Conor McGregor made a bold start but pedigree told as Floyd Mayweather took his record to 50-0 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The 40-year-old returned to the ring after a two-year absence but simply had too much for McGregor, making his professional boxing debut.
The Irishman arrived at the arena in relaxed mood and spoke of how he saw his performance going declaring: "When you get in there it’s man vs man, and you’re only as good as your last one.
"I’m going to go out and be myself."
But after an initial flurry in the opening two rounds, when Mayweather appeared more amused and willing to see what McGregor could bring to the table, The Best Ever took charge.
