Tack Rack also register victory over Space and Style.

Samsung S7 destroyed Sapphire Salute 6-2.5 at the ongoing Overseas Motor Trade Bowl Polo Tournament at Nairobi Polo Club.

Leading the assault for Samsung were Kimoi Moi, Morton Jensen and Stutti Millar who scored a brace each for the emphatic win.

Millar opened the scores for Samsung with a solitary goal in the first chukka. He took his tally to two in the second before Mbu Ngugi pulled a goal for Sapphire who had started the match with a fraction advantage.

Sapphire took the lead in the third chukka through Karim Abbany, but that was the end of them scoring.

The fourth chukka was a field day for Samsung who found the back of the opponent’s goal line four times through Kimoi and Jensen who each notched a brace.

Last week’s Red Bull Cup winners Tack Rack beat Space and Style 5-3 to also show their intention of lifting the cup.

Tack Rack were led into the match by their captain and handicap 2.5 Tarquin Gross who scored four of the five goals with scintillating solo moves.

The well-organised Tack Rack composed of Gross, Jonathan Stichbury (handicap 1); Kaila Millar (0) and Harry Stichbury (0) were impressive in the opening chukka where they did not give the opponents any chance to find their backline.

Gross was the first to score for the winners in the third minute after he successfully paced with a left shot before driving it hard into the opponents goal.

Space and Style failed to cover their backline immediately after the goal and Jonathan took advantage to punish them by scoring a second quick goal for Tack Rack in the fourth minute.

Gross managed to convert a nice penalty shot taken by Millar just in the dying minute of the chukka to give his side a 3-0 advantage in the period.

Space and Style Captain Martin Kesier opted for solo moves on resumption of the second chukka and his decision paid off with a brace.

Gross managed to pull a goal to keep Tack Rack, who were completely out done in this chukka, ahead with a 4-2 lead.

The third chukka was much of a see-saw duel for both sides. Tack Rack got a goal through gross as Kesier leveled for Space and Style.

The sides marshaled their defence well and this kept the ball in play at the centre of the pitch with each side replying each other’s shots with equal force. Tack Rack still managed a 5-3 lead at the end of the chukka.

No goal was realised in the fiercely contested fourth chukka. Both teams seemed to have mastered each other’s trick and they capitalised on that to keep each other from scoring to the end.

Ultimate Security beat Samurai 4-3 to keep their hope alive in the junior category. Samurai’s goals were scored by Lorenzo Suriano, Amani Nzomo (brace).

Scoring for Ultimate Security were Louis Roumeguere and Sammy Kiarie who notched a brace each.
