Over 100 families left homeless after fire razes houses in Riruta, Shauri Moyo

More than 100 families were left homeless in separate fire incidents the city.
The first incident happened in Riruta area, Nairobi injuring one man.

Police say up to 243 structures were flattened in the fire that took long to contain.
Fire engines were sent there and managed to contain the fire. The injured man was trying to contain the fire that had emanated from his stove.
"Those are many families left homeless and with no option," said Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome.
In Shauri Moyo, another fire flattened 20 houses rendering many homeless. Police say they are yet to know the cause of the incident. Those affected have urged for help to reconstruct the structures.
