Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas reveals why he shaved his head after Real Madrid celebrate La Liga title

Keylor Navas was chuffed to win the La Liga title with Real Madrid on the final day of the season on Sunday.

But during the post-match celebrations he decided to do something pretty amazing for young cancer sufferers around the world.

The Costa Rican shaved his head in solidarity with those who have lost their hair during treatment, before dedicating Real's title win to the cause.

While sporting his newly shaven head, the 30-year-old told reporters: "I pray to God for all of them, that they can recover from their illness.

"For all of the kids fighting cancer. For their families, for those who continue fighting. This title is for them."

Navas kept a clean sheet on the final day of the season as Real recorded a 2-0 win over Malaga at La Rosaleda Stadium.

After Real's title celebrations he took to social media, writing: "Thank god we won.

"This title is dedicated to my family and to all the children who undergo very strong treatments and their hair falls out.

"Much strength to their families, and lots of faith that God never leaves us!! Hala Madrid and pura vida!!"

Navas has been an important part of Real's season as they look to win an historic double by retaining the Champions League on June 3.

His long-term future at the club has yet to be decided however, as Los Blancos are keen on signing Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea.
