A ten man Posta Rangers side drew 1-1 against AFC Leopards in yesterday’s Kenyan Premier League match at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.

Rangers, who remain at the top of the log on 18 points were reduced to ten men in the 80th minute when Joseph Mbugi was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Jerry Santo’s free kick in the 20th minute had put the mail men ahead after Ian Otieno failed to stop the shot.

The goal was significant for Rangers and it almost meant that they had wrapped up the match considering that they have been able to hang onto such a slim lead and win their previous four matches.

Coming into the match on the back of a 1-0 loss to Sofapaka, Leopards were the hungrier side.

Gilbert Fiamenyo remained a thorn to the Rangers' back line. His goal in the tenth minute was ruled off-side but it he had made a point going past a defence that had not conceded in more than 360 minutes.

Even after going down, Leopards kept pushing and almost conceded on various counter-attacks. They would count themselves unlucky once again in the second half when Allan Kateregga’s goal was not counted as the referee ruled that he had fouled goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.

However, in the 55th minute Gilbert Fiamenyo made no mistake scoring from a Wyvhone Isuza cross and became just the second man to score against Rangers in eight matches.

Defending champions Tusker picked their second win in a row after stopping Muhoroni Youth 1-0 away.

Allan Wanga scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute. The match kicked off to a slow start with both teams taking time to get used to the wet surface. Tusker’s Marlon Tangauzi tried to set up James Situma upfront, but the effort was blocked by Robert Mudenyu of Muhoroni.

Minutes later Maxwell Onyango’s attempt was parried off for a corner by Collins Shivachi with Robert Ouma stepping up to take the first corner for Muhoroni that Collins Agade sent over the bar for a goal kick.

The hosts then took the control tower for about ten minutes as they dominated the game giving the visitors a hard time.

Humphrey Mieno then picked up a loose ball and dribbled past Ismael Kabugu and Daniel Otieno to set-up George Mandela up-front, who then passed the ball to Allan Wanga who could not go past the Chemelil back line.

Tusker rested Collins Shivachi and Michael Khamati for Abdallah Hassan and Clifford Alwanga in the second half with this change turning the game around and eventually the goal.

At Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, Nzoia came from a goal down to force a one-all draw with Sony.

Boniface Muchiri had scored in the 40th minute for Sony before Nzoia cancelled through Victor Omondi who has been in top form with just ten minutes left.
