A Meru MP has told President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, Wiliam Ruto, to keep off Meru politics and not to lecture local residents on whom to elect in the August polls.
Tigania West legislator David Karithi accused Jubilee Party top leaders of trying to patronise Meru voters. However, he said he would support President Kenyatta's re-election bid.
Mr Karithi spoke at Uringu Primary School in Tigania West, where he donated Sh300, 000 for the upgrading of the institution.
He added that he would support Meru Governor Peter Munya's re-election bid, noting that his challenger, Kiraitu Murungi, should retire since he is already 70.
Karithi, who has ditched the Jubilee Party for PNU, said he was confident of re-election since he had a good development record.
