2,000 East African soldiers attend counter-terrorism training in Kwale

A contingent of 2,000 soldiers from five East African countries have kicked-off a ten-day drilling exercise in Kwale County.

Yesterday Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo officially launched the Field Training Exercise dubbed Ushirikiano Imara 2016 that will dwell mostly in combating terrorism and piracy.

The soldiers are from Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Vice Chief of Defense Forces Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon said the training is applicable to the current security challenges. -
