Njue advises faithful on need for self-acceptance

The head of the Catholic Church in Kenya Cardinal John Njue Sunday advised faithful on the need for self-acceptance.

"Do not shy away from yourself and what you are going through. That is not a solution and running away will never resolve anything," he said at Holy Family Minor Basilica in Nairobi during the church Family Day.

He also told the faithful to heed a call by Pope Francis declaring the Year of Mercy. The faithful also celebrated the opening of the 'Holy Door', commemorations that seek to mark the 50th anniversary of the close of the Second Vatican Council which took place on December 8, 1965.
